Newsletter 28th November 2025

Headteacher’s Message It certainly has been a busy couple of weeks in school since our last newsletter. As we start the second half of the autumn term, it is exciting to see parts of our school development plan for this year beginning to come to life. Miss Race is leading on a sustainability project and has inspired us all to consider how we may have a fresh look at sustainable use of foods. Each class will be putting something very special together to share with you at the upcoming PTA Christmas Fayre (18th December). From things you can eat, to gifts for a treat – you will be amazed at what they can produce with produce! We are also so excited to have our new Pupil Parliament up and running. The children experienced a real taste of democracy with each class asking for nominations, nominees presenting to their classes and then the final voting. Congratulations to all those who took part, whether or not elected, as I know your teachers were simply bowled over by the effort you all put into it. The new Pupil Parliament will be a brilliant way of giving our pupils more of a voice in their school and more responsibility in making decisions to benefit the children with us now and into the future. Thank you to Mrs Heywood and Miss James for all of their hard work behind the scenes.

Weather Reminders

It is starting to get cold and the weather is not very easily predicted so it would be great if all children could come every day with a warm coat, hat and gloves. If it is dry, they  really do love being outside so being prepared for the colder days does make their playtimes more enjoyable.

Christmas Time

Christmas is undoubtedly an extraordinarily happy time of year for most people. We do know, though, that for some it can be a time of high pressure and high emotion. If you have any worries as we approach the festive season (whether personal, financial or family-related), please do get in touch. Our pastoral team, Mrs Walling-Lewis and Miss Stephenson have a wealth of knowledge personally as well as wider agencies they can put you in touch with to help ease some of the burden. Your conversations are confidential and you can reach them on our school number then choose option 3

Testimonials

It’s a lovely community. We all feel like a part of St Luke’s family. My child loves her teachers and knows other members of staff. It’s lovely to walk into school and people know my child’s name and always say hello to her, even teachers from other classes or Mrs Armistead.

Parent

I know when I drop my kids off they are happy and safe and they both enjoy their time in school.

Parent

Thank you for not only teaching my daughter but also caring for her. She’s really happy at school and is making great progress in all areas of learning.

Parent

The staff have been so supportive of my child with Special Educational Needs. They are amazing and it makes me confident that my daughter is well looked after and if she has any problems they will help.

Parent of a child with SEND

The Reception Open Day really showed the school in a good light. The Headteacher showed us round and knew all of the pupil’s names. All of the children we met were friendly and polite but more importantly they were all smiling whilst learning.

Prospective Parent

Teachers are very helpful, friendly and approachable
