Recent legislation requires teachers to log details of why children are absent from school. Returns have to be sent to the Authority indicating 'unauthorised' absences. If your child has to be absent for some reason, please let the school know as soon as possible by telephone at the start of the absence and by sending a note to the classteacher on your child's return to school. Failure to do this will result in your child being registered as an unauthorised absence. The Headteacher has the discretion to authorise an absence or not as the case may be. With regards to holidays taken during term time, Mrs Armistead will only authorise absence in exceptional circumstances. A meeting must be arranged with the Headteacher to discuss any holidays before they are booked/taken.
School have an automated telephone system whereby you are able to leave a message regarding your childs absence.
